Oil Pipelines

There are two Oil Pipelines planned within the LAPSSET Corridor. A Crude Oil Pipeline from South Sudan to Lamu through the Lokichar Oil Fields and a Product Oil Pipeline from the Port of Lamu to Ethiopia through Isiolo and Moyale.

Crude Oil Pipeline

The Pre-Front End Engineering Design (PRE-FEED) Studies were complete in 2015.
A joint development Agreement (JDA) signed in 2017 between GOK and Upstream investors (Tullow Oil, Africa Oil and Total),
Currently the Pipeline Project Nanagement Team is in the process of procuring an EPCM Contractor for the project's implementation.
The Front-End Eng, Designs (FEED) and ESIA Studies were complete in 2020.
The project is valued at 1.5 B$.

Product Oil Pipeline

Bilateral instruments have been signed between Kenya and Ethiopia for the implementation and technical preliminary studies for the product oil pipeline.
